Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and other cavity
nesters thank you for your interest in birds and welcome you to the Slippin'
Silo home page. This is the place to learn more about one of the newest, most innovative
and unique nest boxes for cavity nesters
designed with many useful features.
It is not just a nest box, it is a nest box system consisting of
multiple parts that help simplify the task
of protecting and assisting residents with their "household management"
chores. The Slippin' Silo was designed and intended for use by serious
bird lovers who
conduct frequent nest checks and maintain records of nesting activity and
progress, but it is also quite useful to the
casual bird lover. Although primarily intended for
use with Bluebirds, this nest box is quite suitable for many of the smaller
cavity-nesting bird species. The
often asked question "what makes the silo so different and special?" can
be answered by clicking here. Visitors are encouraged to explore this
web site to learn more about the
"Cadillac of nest boxes".
Mission:
To design, build and market a
Bluebird nest box that provides most of the requirements of cavity nesting birds
and fulfills the needs of Bluebird landlords in addition to enhancing their
birding experiences.
Personal
Profile:
As the designer, builder and marketer of the Slippin'
Silo, I am an avid Bluebird supporter with several years of experience on a
Bluebird trail. My "nest box business" is a very small operation in the
basement of my home in Southeastern Ohio. Readers who are interested in
learning more about me, my hobbies and my business should check back to this
page at a future date when there will be link to a Biography of the
Designer/Builder of the Slippin' Silo.
As an avid bird lover, I am a member of
the Ohio Bluebird Society, North American Bluebird Society and the Purple
Martin Conservation Association.
