Tree Swallow/Bluebird Protocol for starting new Purple Martin
colonies: Dr. Dan Drew of Indianapolis, Indiana has spent
immeasurable hours working out a protocol for individuals to follow
that have been trying to start s Purple Martin colony without
success. Both Tree Swallows and Bluebirds are known to be
aggressive competitors with Purple Martins for housing at an
un-established site intended for Martins. Allowing a TS or BB
pair to claim a Martin cavity at a new site will ruin your chances
of attracting Martins. This is a "must visit" site for Purple
Martin "wannabes".
